Evidence theater is what happens when the confidence attached to a review, benchmark, audit, test, certification, or other assurance process exceeds what that process can actually establish. The framework was developed by Lana Akopyan and first defined in The Agentic Lawyer on July 30, 2026. Its recurring forms include human review, the traveling number, the expiring audit, the test that does not match the claim, and the control that does not establish the property.
